Our Story
The heart of who Birdtown Electric is — how we got our start right here in Cleveland, our ties to the Birdtown neighborhood, and what makes us a different kind of electrical company than the big corporate outfits.
How We Got Our Start in Cleveland
Birdtown Electric was founded by Jacob Juarez in 2010 with a straightforward goal — provide honest electrical work at fair prices without cutting corners. What started as a one-truck operation in the Birdtown neighborhood of Cleveland has grown into a small, trusted crew that homeowners and local business owners call by name.
Cleveland homeowners and business owners keep coming back because we're upfront about costs before any work begins, we don't upsell services you don't need, and we stand behind everything we do. As a locally owned business, our reputation in the community matters to us. You're not dealing with a large franchise — you're working with a small team that treats every job seriously, whether it's a simple fixture swap or a full commercial electrical installation.
Deep Ties to Birdtown and Cleveland
We take our name from the Birdtown neighborhood on Cleveland's West Side, and that connection isn't just a label — it's where we live and work. We know the older homes in this part of Cleveland, the kinds of wiring and panels they were built with, and the electrical issues that come with age. When a neighbor in Lakewood or Ohio City calls about a flickering light or a panel that won't hold, we usually know exactly what we're walking into before we arrive.
Being local also means being accountable. We see our customers at the grocery store and the hardware store. That keeps us honest in a way a national chain never has to be. If something isn't right, we hear about it — and we fix it.
What Drives Us Every Day
We show up and do honest work every day because that's what our neighbors deserve. We treat every home like it belongs to a friend — because in a neighborhood this tight, it often does. That means cleaning up after ourselves, explaining what we found in plain language, and never pushing a repair that isn't necessary.

Meet the Manager
Jacob Juarez has been working in the electrical trade for over 15 years. He started out as an apprentice right out of high school and worked his way up through the ranks before launching Birdtown Electric. Jacob is a licensed electrician who has handled everything from basic residential repairs to full commercial installations.
He knows the work inside and out, keeps his pricing fair, and shows up when he says he will. Customers come back to Birdtown Electric because Jacob runs a tight operation and stands behind every job his crew completes.
A Different Kind of Electrical Company
The big corporate electrical outfits send whoever is next on the dispatch board. We send the same small crew, job after job. They read pricing off a corporate rate sheet designed to maximize revenue. We tell you what the job actually costs. They move on to the next city. We're still going to be here, in Birdtown, next year and the year after that.
That's the difference between a locally owned electrical company and a franchise. When you call Birdtown Electric, you're talking to the people who actually do the work — and the people whose name is on the side of the truck.
